Ramallah, July 18, 2009, (Ramattan)- Palestinian local report Saturday revealed that the Israeli Occupation Forces arrested 12,000 Palestinian women since the occupation of the occupied Palestinian territory in 1967.
In a report issued today, the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) said that the Israeli troops arrested 12,000 women, 53 of them are still in custody.
The report points out that 5 of the women are less than 18 years old.
PPS added that 850 Palestinian women have been detained by the Israeli troops since the eruption of Al-Aqsa Intifada in September 2000.
It indicated that 9550 Palestinians are still detained in the Israeli prisons including 360 children.
