Occupation authorities releases minor Mohammad Hassan Eriqat

Palestine Monitor

The Israeli army has released the injured prisoner, 16-year-old Mohammad Hassan Erikat, from Abu Deis, who has spent 7 months in prison; he was released after his family paid a bail of 10,000 shekels.
Erikat was arrested at the end of last year during clashes with the Israeli army at a protest against the war on Gaza.
The prisoner’s sister Hiba Erikat confirmed that Israeli soldiers arrested her brother when a bullet hit the right side of his abdomen, penetrating his liver and diaphragm and causing severe bleeding and loss of conscious. He was hospitalized in Hadassa Hospital for several weeks. The prisoner’s sister added that her brother is suffering from many health problems and is in dire need of urgent surgery in his abdomen to remove the alcohol residues left by the bullet.
Hiba Erikat called upon the international community and human rights organizations to put an end to Israeli crimes and violations committed against Palestinian prisoners.
It is worth mentioning that according to the statistics of the Ministry of Detainees and Ex-detainees, there are 11,000 Palestinian prisoners including 440 children in the Israeli prisons.
