Israel releases man without charge after month in prison

TULKAREM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces released a prominent Tulkarem businessman Thursday without charge after one month in Israeli prisons, his lawyer said.

Usamah Fakhri At-Tanib, general director of the Tanib Company, was detained when soldiers raided his family's apartment complex on 27 July. Residents were forced to evacuate the building while a search was completed.

At-Tanib's lawyer Jawwad Al-Khatib said no charges were brought against his client, who was released without conditions. Despite having no evidence Israeli authorities tried to charge At-Tanib with various offenses which were "baseless and untrue," his lawyer said.
