Report: Israel steps up violations against juvenile detainees

RAMALLAH, (PIC)-- The prisoners studies center in Palestine calls for the release of all minors in Israeli custody, adding that Israeli occupation authorities must be forced to stop detention of minors.
The center reported on Monday that around 340 Palestinian children suffer in Israeli jails and lack the minimum conditions essential for life.
They are subjected to constant crackdowns, terrorism, and solitary confinement, and are deprived of family visits and necessary medical treatment.
The Telmond-Hasharon juvenile detention center has been allocated for minors, but underage inmates can still be found in the Ofer, Negev, Etzion, Megiddo, and Hawara prisons and several other detention and investigation centers.
The prisoners studies center said juveniles are placed in detention with criminal offenders, and undergo intimidation and ill-treatment during their arrests.
Minors have experienced outbreaks of diseases and insects throughout the prisons, and are under threat of increased morbidity as a result.
