Comrade Linan Yousef Mousa Abu Ghoulmeh entered her sixth year in the occupation prisons on September 10, 2009. Comrade Abu Ghoulmeh, 37 years old, is one of 61 women Palestinian prisoners in the jails of the occupier.
Comrade Abu Ghoulmeh was abducted from Huwarra checkpoint near Nablus on September 9, 2004 by the occupation army and sentenced to six years in prison, based on her membership in the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.
She is the sister of Comrade Ahed Abu Ghoulmeh, who is serving a life sentence plus ten years in the occupation jails. He is accused by the Israeli occupation forces of serving as the leader of the Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades, the armed wing of the PFLP, in the West Bank. He was abducted along with Comrade Leader Ahmad Sa'adat, the General Secretary of the PFLP, and Comrades Majdi Rimawi, Basil al-Asmar and Hamdi Qur'an, from the Palestinian Authority's Jericho prison on March 16, 2006, under a military siege by occupation forces.
The occupation prison administration has continually denied her requests to meet with her brother, citing secret security reasons for the denial. Comrade Abu Ghoulmeh has reported that many women in the prisons suffer from health problem and need medical treatment, which they are denied by the prison authorities.
