Hebron – Ma’an – During a raid on Surif village, Israeli forces said they seized Izz Ad-Din Al-Qassam Brigades member Muhammad Kharioosh and one of his associates, the army said.

The village, north west of Hebron, was invaded early Tuesday morning by Israeli troops allegedly looking for Kharioosh. He was taken along with his aide, Adnan Samara. Both men are are from Tulkarem.

According to Israeli sources, Kharioosh is considered the "most wanted man" in the city since the Al-Aqsa, or second, Intifada. The Israeli military said it had been tracking Kharioosh for years, and finally found him in his family home.

Israeli military courts charged Kharioosh with planning an operation in Natanya in 2002, which allegedly precipitated then Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's decision to invade the West Bank.
