Bethlehem - Ma'an/Agencies - The trial of a Palestinian citizen of Israel accused of spying on Israel's Military Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi while the official worked out at the gym began Tuesday Israeli press reported.

The young man, identified as Rawi Sultani, stands accused of handing information over to Lebanese party Hizbullah, on which Israel waged war in 2006 following the capture of two soldiers near the border. He has denied all charges. "It's all nonsense, and it will be proved in court. I don't even know what the chief of staff looks like," the Israeli news website Ynet quoted Sultani as saying.
