At least 900 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails have been denied family visitation rights for more than two years.
In recognition of ICRC as the guardian of the Fourth Geneva Convention, PCHR calls upon the ICRC to increase its staff and activities in the OPT, including the facilitation of family visitations to Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.
Incursions: During the reporting period, Israeli forces conducted at least 17 military incursions into Palestinian communities in the West Bank. Israeli forces arrested 17 Palestinian civilians, including 7 children. Israeli forces also turned a Palestinian house into a military site.
On 06 August 2009, Israeli forces arrested two Palestinian fishers opposite Rafah. They interrogated the two fishers for several hours and released them later.

At approximately 06:00, two Israeli naval gunboats got as close as 600 meters away from Rafah beach in the southern Gaza Strip. Israeli naval troop arrested two fishers: Ziad 'Abdul Karim Miqdad, 38; and 'Abdullah 'Abdul Karim Miqdad, 23. They took the two fishers to Ashdod Harbor inside Israel and interrogated them. The two fishers were released at approximately 17:00.

· At approximately 01:00, Israeli forces moved into al-Burj village, southwest of Hebron. They raided and searched a house belonging to Nasser Tawfiq al-Faqeeh, 20, and arrested him.
· Also at approximately 01:00, Israeli forces moved into 'Arraba village, southwest of Jenin. They raided and searched a number of houses and arrested two Palestinian civilians:
1. Hani Ahmed Abu Sara, 50; and
2. Hassan Ahmed Abu Sara, 33.
· At approximately 02:00, Israeli forces moved into Kufor Dan village, west of Jenin. They raided and searched a number of houses and arrested Ahmed Nayef Mar'ei, 50. Israeli forces had arrested Mar'ei' son, 28-year-old Ussama, at al-Karama International Crossing Point on the Jordanian border on 09 August 2009.
· Also at approximately 02:00, Israeli forces moved into Hares village, northwest of Salfit. They raided and searched a house belonging to the family of Usaid Jamal Sultan, 17, and arrested him.
