Prisoners center: Health condition of detainee worsening

RAMALLAH, (PIC)-- The Palestinian center for prisoners studies has said that the health condition of Raja Al-Ghoul, who has been held and interrogated in Israeli occupation jails for almost 17 days, was deteriorating.

Director of the center Ra'fat Hamdona said in a statement on Wednesday that the detainee, who used to be in charge of the file of Palestinian women prisoners in the center, was suffering from tight coronary arteries and needed constant medical follow up.

He held the Israeli occupation authority fully responsible for the life of Ghoul, adding that her cruel incarceration conditions were endangering her life.

Hamdona called on international concerned institutions to pressure the IOA to stop its violations and illegal practices against Palestinian detainees and prisoners, adding that the detention of jurists constituted a "serious precedence" and a "flagrant violation" of human rights and international doctrines.

The Israeli occupation forces arrested Ghoul on 31/3/2009 in her home after encircling her home and those of her father and her father-in-law in Jenin refugee camp.
