GAZA, (PIC)-- The prisoners' center for studies on Saturday asked all Palestinian forces and factions to declare solidarity with Ahmed Saadat, the secretary general of the popular front for the liberation of Palestine, who entered his second week on hunger strike last Thursday in Israeli occupation jails.
The center held the Israeli occupation authority fully responsible for the life of Saadat especially following the deterioration in his health condition after the strike that was made to protest his isolation in Beer Sheba jail.
Ra'fat Hamdona, the center's director, appealed to legal and human rights organizations to pressure the IOA into ending the isolation of Saadat and other Palestinian prisoners held in solitary confinement, which, he said, posed great dangers on their lives and mental health.
Saadat was arrested by the Israeli occupation forces while held in PA jail in Jericho in March 2006. He was sentenced to 30 years behind bars in a summary trial, which Saadat refused to recognize after describing it as "illegitimate".
