Israeli forces burn down home, detain family's eldest son in Nablus raid

Nablus – Ma’an – Israeli soldiers set fire to a family home in Nablus’ Old City claiming it was a weapons storehouse, and detained the eldest son of the family in a 1:30am raid Thursday morning.

Ten Israeli military vehicles stormed the streets around the Al-Aghbar family’s home in the Old City, forcing the family onto the streets as they searched the ancient building. Claiming they found arms inside soldiers set fire to the building with the family looking on, and took 20-year-old Yahya Nidal Al-Aghbar into custody.

Soldiers also detained 19-year-old Sa’ed Hamdan from Nablus area during the raids.

Umm Yahya, the youth’s mother, said there were no arms in her home, and said soldiers used explosives to destroy her home.

NABLUS, (PIC)-- Israeli occupation forces at dawn Thursday rounded up 15 Palestinians from various west Bank areas and started fire in one of the Palestinian homes in the Old City of Nablus.

Local sources said that the IOF soldiers broke into the home of Aghbar family in the Old City and kidnapped their son. They added that the soldiers threw sonic bombs then incendiary bombs into the house completely burning it.

The soldiers claimed they found a pistol in the home of another youth detained n Nablus but his family categorically denied the allegation.

The Hebrew radio said that the soldiers arrested 15 "wanted" Palestinians in the districts of Nablus, Bethlehem and Al-Khalil, claiming that an explosive device was found in the house of one of them.

In the Gaza Strip, a joint unit of the PFLP armed wing and Aqsa Martyrs Brigades (Ezzedin Al-Shamli group) fired at an IOF engineering corps east of Beit Hanun in northern Gaza on Wednesday.
