After four months in prison, Israel sentences 15-year-old to six months

Ramallah - Ma’an - The Israeli military court at Ofer prison sentenced 15-year-old Rami Zayed to a six month term on Thursday.

Rami is the son of Al-Bireh municipal council member Salim Zayed. The court ordered a 5,000 shekel (1,200 US dollar) fine and five years of probation following the six month term.

Rami served four months of administrative detention after being seized by Israeli forces in February. He has been held in the Hasharon prison.

RAMALLAH, (PIC)-- The Israeli military court in Ofer prison, west of Ramallah, has sentenced a 15-year-old Palestinian boy to five months in jail in addition to about 1,200 dollars fine.

Father of the child, Rami Salim Zayed, said that the court also passed a five-year suspended sentence against his son.

The father, who is a member of El-Bireh municipal council, said that Rami was held in Hasharon jail ever since his arrest early last February.

Meanwhile, in the Gaza Strip a 12-year-old Palestinian child was pronounced dead on Saturday following an explosion in his home in Khan Younis, south of the Strip, medical sources told the PIC reporter.
