Prisoners center: IPA offers expired medication to sick prisoners

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- The prisoners' center for studies has charged the Israeli prisons authority of deliberately neglecting the Palestinian sick prisoners, which led to the death of tens of them.

The center quoted prisoners as calling on the Red Cross, legal centers and human rights groups to intervene and save the lives of their sick colleagues in Israeli prisons and detention centers.

They said that the IPA and the so-called medical staff only offer sedatives to all patients as a kind of "magic prescription" for all diseases.

The IPA on certain occasions offers those patients expired medication, which only doubles their suffering, the prisoners charged.

The center appealed to all those concerned to follow up the cases of those sick prisoners, and asked legal and medical associations to pressure Israel into allowing access into the prisons of medical teams to check those sick prisoners.

It warned that the IPA anti prisoners measures were escalating especially following the Israeli government committee's proposals that was formed to discuss means of aggravating the prisoners' incarceration conditions following the failure of the prisoners' swap deal talks between Israel and Palestinian resistance factions holding the Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit.
