Israeli troops apprehend Gaza boy after shooting him

Gaza – Ma’an – Israeli forces apprehended a young Palestinian after injuring him east of Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip.

Local sources said Israeli troops seized 12-year-old Ayman Shamiyya after shooting him while he was playing. There was no word about how serious the boy's injuries were.

IOF Injures and Detains Child in Eastern Beit Hanoun

At app. 9.20 on 3 May 2009, the IOF, stationed on the eastern borderline, opened fire at 12-year-old Mohamed Harb Shamia, from Jabalia Refugee camp. The IOF announced later that they injured the boy in his leg and detained him. The boy is now undergoing a medical treatment in an Israeli hospital.
