Israeli troops apprehend Gaza boy after shooting him

Gaza – Ma’an – Israeli forces apprehended a young Palestinian after injuring him east of Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip.

Local sources said Israeli troops seized 12-year-old Ayman Shamiyya after shooting him while he was playing. There was no word about how serious the boy's injuries were.

3-5-2009 Al Mezan IOF Injures and Detains Child in Eastern Beit Hanoun At app. 9.20 on 3 May 2009, the IOF, stationed on the eastern borderline, opened fire at 12-year-old Mohamed Harb Shamia, from Jabalia Refugee camp. The IOF announced later that they injured the boy in his leg and detained him. The boy is now undergoing a medical treatment in an Israeli hospital.
