IOF detains 12 Palestinians across West Bank


Ramallah, May 1, 2009 (Ramattan) – The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) detained on Friday morning twelve Palestinian citizens in different cities across the West Bank, Palestinian security sources said.

The sources added that Issa Abu Zena 20, Ahmed Al-Far 20 and Mahdi Sharaqay 22 were arrested as the IOF thrust into their houses in the city of Jenin, taking them to undisclosed area.

In separate incidents, nine Palestinians were detained by the IOF in the cities of Ramallah, Nablus and Hebron.

The Israeli army claimed that all the detainees were "wanted" and were taken for questioning.

Earlier on Thursday, the IOF detained five Palestinian citizens in Ramallah and Hebron.

There are more than 10.000 Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli jails, including children, women, patients and lawmakers.
